Today our Church commemorates St. Demetrianos the New Martyr and Saint Diomedes, one of the twenty Saint Unmercenaries or Anargyroi, who was born in Tarsus of Cilicia and martyred during the persecution of Diocletian.
Having studied the art of medicine, he healed the physical but also the mental illness of men, enlightening and guiding the human souls through the preaching of the Savior of the world Jesus Christ.
Today, we also celebrate the memory of Saint Alcibiades, who martyred burned in the fire and the neo-martyr Stamatis, born in Volos, who matryred in Constantinople in the year 1680, not succumbing to the pressures of the Turks to refuse Christianity and convert to Islam.
