The Orthodox Church commemorates St. Triphyllios, Bishop of Ledra.
Saint Triphylios was bishop of Nicosia in the 4th century AD. He received education in the two spiritual centres of the island, in Salamina and in Soloi, and then he went to Beirut, where he completed his studies in law and rhetoric.
He spent his entire life praying and teaching God’s will and he seized all spiritual opportunities he was given within the Orthodox Church. He has virtuous and displayed exemplary behaviour. He fell asleep in the Lord at the age of 80 and was buried at the Holy Monastery of Panagia Odigitria in Nicosia.
