On Thursday, 24 November 2022, the eve of the Feast of Saint Catherine the Great Martyr, at the same-name church in the suburb of Malvern in Melbourne, the Great Vespers took place, officiated by Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis, accompanied by many priests of the Archdiocesan District of Melbourne.
Among the crowded congregation were, among others, the Consul General of Greece in Melbourne, Emmanuel Kakavelakis, and the local Liberal Party candidate, Michael O’Brien.
At the end of the Vespers Service, Bishop Kyriakos spoke appropriately about the protectress of the Parish of Melvern, Saint Catherine, and conveyed to the faithful gathered the festive wishes of Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
