On Sunday, March 10, Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Melbourne, visited the Church of St. Athanasius in the suburb of Springvale. There, he presided over the Divine Liturgy, accompanied by Bishop Themistocles of Nikopolis, of the Patriarchate of Alexandria. The two Hierarchs were accompanied by Archimandrite Fr. Kosmas Damianidis and Fr. Dimitrios Drougas.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Encyclical of Archbishop Makarios of Australia was read, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Holy Archdiocese and highlighting the recent decisions of the Ecumenical Patriarchate regarding the approval of the new Constitution for the local Church. Bishop Kyriakos addressed the parishioners of Saint Athanasios Parish, extending the blessings of Archbishop Makarios to them.
