Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece sent a letter to the Ambassador of France to Greece Christophe Chantepy, deploring the recent unfortunate incident to the Notre-Dame Cathedral, “one of the most important monuments of the European and World Christian Heritage,” as he said.
“I express my regret and sympathy to our friend French people. Please convey my sincere feelings of sympathy to His Excellency President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, wishing through the Grace of the Holy Mother of God to reconstruct this magnificent cathedral and continue to be a landmark for Paris, France, and the humanity.
