With the blessing of Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa, two new ecclesiastical communities were founded in the Holy Diocese of Toliara and Southern Madagascar, in honor of Saints Ephraim and Daniel of Katounakia.
Specifically, on February 27, 2021, a day on which our Holy Church honors the memory of Saint Ephraim, the cornerstone of the church was laid, marking the establishment of the community.
Also, the new Monastery with its Katholikon honoring the memory of Saint Joseph takes its final form. In the area of the Holy Monastery, the reconstruction works of the building complex of the first Seminary for local candidate clergy, tomorrow’s Mission workers, will begin.
The Churches, Holy Monasteries and Seminary, are places of commemoration and connection with our Saints. They are the new olive grove, where the water is minimal, the needs are many, and His mercy is felt, as necessary. After all, this is the paradox of the Church. How with a cassock full of holes, a stretched prayer rope, and a rusk you become from a man – God and from a resident of a hut – ambassador of the universe.
