There are various views on how frequently the faithful should go to confession. We believe that frequency should not be determined by the faithful’s fear and their need to depend on the spiritual guide, who persuades them to confess their sins for no real reason every three or so days like the imaginary invalid visits for no real reason the doctor.
Also, it should not be determined on the basis of the faithful’s casual consciousness and the approach of the Mystery, seen as either a formal event or a magical occurrence, because this, too, is far from going to confession with humiliation and awareness.
Nor should it be linked exclusively to participation in the Holy Mystery of Eucharist because in this way it can degenerate into a formal process of obtaining the permission of the spiritual guide to receive the Holy Communion. The frequency of participation in this Holy Mystery is not strictly defined.
It depends on the spiritual condition of the faithful, their needs and their sins during the war against the visible and invisible enemies. More specifically, the Christian should go to confession, whenever there is a reason, just as they go to the doctor when they feel ill.
