The developments regarding the next day in the Church of Crete are rapid.
By the end of the week, the findings regarding the health of Archbishop Eirinaios will be sent to the Phanar, while at the beginning of December the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate is expected to meet and will be asked to ratify the decision to replace Archbishop Eirinaios.
It is reminded that tomorrow, Wednesday, the Eparchial Synod of the Church of Crete meets with this issue on the agenda.
It is also reminded that this procedure is provided in article 39 of the Statutory Charter of the Church of Crete.
As characteristically referred to the relevant decision of the Eparchial Synod of the Church of Crete last month:
“The Holy Eparchial Synod fully recognizes and honors the contribution and work of President Archbishop Eirinaios, as Prelate of the Church of Crete. However, due to the current circumstances and the difficult situation of his health, unanimously lead the Holy Synod to address this issue”.
