The Head of the European Union Delegation to Turkey, Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, has recently visited Constantinople.
He met Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in the Phanar, went to the Halki seminary, and visited the historic Prinkipo Greek Orphanage as reported by fanarion.blogspot.com.
He went to the historic building accompanied by the Vice President of the Delegation, Eleftheria Pertzinidou, the Greek Ambassador to Ankara, Michalis Diamesis, the Mayor of Princes’ Islands, Erdem Gul, the Archon Megas Hartophylax of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Lakis Vingas, and CHP party executives.
The architect of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Dr. Apostolos Poridis, was present at the Prinkipo Greek Orphanage.
Afterwards, the Mayor of Princes’ Islands hosted a luncheon on the hill of Saint Georgios Koudounas.
