Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias who is visiting Bahrain on Monday was warmly welcomed by the Foreign Minister of Bahrain Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
According to a Greek Foreign Ministry announcement, Dendia’s official visit to Bahrain was an opportunity to advance bilateral relations at a political and economic level. Additionally, Dendias said that Greece and Bahrain share common views on global challenges and commitment to addressing them with respect to international law and especially the International Law of the Sea.
During their meeting, the two top officials signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on political consultation.
Earlier, Dendias was received by the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to whom he extended Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou’s invitation to visit Greece at the earliest opportunity.
Dendias also met on Monday with Mumtalakat CEO Khalid Al Rumaihi to discuss opportunities for strengthening economic cooperation and promoting investments with an emphasis on renewable energy sources, agriculture, and tourism.
