Greek Edu Minister on Holy Communion: Saliva is one route of transmission of coronavirus

Minister of Education Niki Kerameus

The Minister of Education, Niki Kerameus, was asked about the issue of the Holy Communion, speaking today on SKAI TV station.

Asked on whether the faithful will be able to receive the Holy Communion from May 17, when they will be allowed to participate in the Divine Liturgy under certain conditions, the minister stated that “we do not enter into matters of faith” while pointing out that “the experts have stated a view on how the virus is transmitted and saliva is included in those routes of transmission.”

Kerameus also said that, following the experts’ recommendation, the faithful will be obliged to wear mask inside the church.
