By the grace of God, the construction of the Holy Church of Saint Catherine in Arusha, Tanzania was completed.
On the Feast Day of the Sunday of Pentecost, in the afternoon, the consecration took place and on the feast day of the Monday of the Holy Spirit, the first Divine Liturgy took place. The faithful came to the new Church to pray and ask for the grace of the Holy Spirit.
On the Sunday of Pentecost, the Divine Liturgy and the Vespers of Kneeling (Vespers of the Holy Spirit) were celebrated in the wooden chapel on the site of the Arusha Missionary Centre under construction. The faithful heard the prayers of the Great Vespers of Pentecost, which were translated into Swahili by the translation committee of the Diocese. After the Divine Liturgy and Vespers, a festive lunch was offered to all those present, offered by Archimandrite Ioannis Itsiou, Parish Priest of the Church of Saint George, Litochoro, in memory of his Grandparents, Miltiadis, Christina, and Sophia.
