Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew said that the upcoming meeting with Archbishop Ieronymos is an opportunity for “conducting a fraternal dialogue, thawing mutual relation, and discussing issues of mutual interest for the common good”.
In his letter the Ecumenical Patriarch accepts the invitation of the Archbishop to open the Gerontology Center in Dilesi, Viotia, on May 23. The Ecumenical Patriarch also wants to bridge the differences between Athens and the Phanar.
“We thank you for the gentility of not sending us the invitation by mail but through your valuable associate, Protosyncellus Bishop of Thespies Simeon, whom we greatly appreciate,” underlines the Ecumenical Patriarch.
Regarding the Gerontology Center, the Ecumenical Patriarch said that it is “a tangible evidence of the interest and concern of Archbishop Ieronymos and the Church of Greece for our fellow human beings, especially in this difficult situation for the Greek people.”
