On Sunday, May 5, 2019, an event was held at the Community Center of the Parish of Prophet Elias Norwood for the Orthodox Christian mission in the South Pacific (Fiji, Tonga and Samoa).
This Orthodox mission is led by Metropolitan Myron of New Zealand who, these days, is visiting Adelaide and who continues the work of his predecessor former Metropolitan of New Zealand and now Metropolitan of Ganou and Chora, Amfilochios.
On Sunday of St. Thomas, Metropolitan Myron officiated at the Church of Prophet Elias Norwood, along with Father Meletios Pantic from the Monastery of the Holy Archangels in Levin, New Zealand, Fr. George Kanellis from Auckland, the hieratic Head of the church, Stavros Psaromatis, Fr. Michael Psaromatis and Fr. Panagiotis Kouvoussis, Vassiliada.
The amount raised for the Mission exceeded $ 36,000.00.
Metropolitan Myron expressed his gratitude to Bishop Nikandros of Dorileou.
