The priorities for the key actions and interventions of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) in the direction of facilitating and better serving taxpayers were determined during a meeting by the Minister of Finance Christos Staikouras, Deputy Minister on taxation policy and state assets, Apostolos Vesiropoulos and the Administrator of AADE George Pitsilis.
These actions and interventions concern the digital interconnection of AADE services with other services in the wider public sector.
In particular, as announced by the Ministry of Finance, the interventions include:
* AADE’s interconnection with the Municipal Registries, Metropolises and the Citizens’ Register of the Ministry of Interior to automatically update the Authority’s Registry on changes in the taxpayer’s marital status (marriages, divorces, etc.) and on death. In the same way, tax authorities will automatically be informed of residence permits in Greece for immigrants and refugees.
As the Finance Minister said after the meeting, “The strategic goal of the Ministry of Finance is to constantly upgrade and utilize modern technology to quickly and effectively serve citizens and businesses and relieve them of the need to visit more services to declare the same thing. We support AADE to complete the project as soon as possible”.
