Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew gave an address from the Phanar.
The President of the Orthodox Academy of Crete, Metropolitan Amfilochios of Kissamos and Selinos, the Deputy Minister of Education and Religious Affairs for the Primary and Secondary Education and Special Education, Zetta Makri, the former Deputy Minister of Education, Vasilios Digalakis, the Secretary-General for Public Diplomacy and Greeks Abroad, Ioannis Chrysoulakis, and the Mayor of Platanias, Ioannis Malandrakis.
Professor of Linguistics George Babiniotis, Archon Teacher of the Nation, former Rector of the University of Athens and President of the Educational Society, was the keynote speaker.
The speaker talked about the integration and acceptance of foreign elements in the Greek language and particular emphasis was put on the importance of the Greek language and on the linguistic contribution of the Three Holy Hierarchs.
