The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew ahead of Holy Week and Easter will travel to his birthplace of Imbros.
As the Holy Metropolis of Imbros and Tenedos informs in a respective announcement, the Ecumenical Patriarch will lead all the Holy Services during the appointed period, while the announcement points out that this is the first visit of the Ecumenical Patriarch to his birthplace during the Paschal season after a decade.
The announcement follows:
“The Holy Metropolis of Imbro and Tenedos, in spiritual joy and rejoicing, announces to the Christ-loving faithful that during this year’s Holy Week and Holy Pascha, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will come and preside over the Holy Services in the birthplace of Imbros.
Our humble Province rightly boasts of its blessed Son and awaits His blessed presence so that it may experience, after ten years since His last Holy Week and Paschal visit in the year 2013, on the Feast of Feasts and Festival of Festivals together with the ever-crucified Patriarch of the Genus, the only light and life shining through the Universe from the never-extinguishing lamp of the Great Church”.
