Representing Archbishop Makarios of Australia, Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta presided over the official Doxology for the liberation of Macedonia organized every year by the Pan-Macedonian Union of Melbourne and Victoria.
The Doxology was held at the Holy Church of Saints Methodius and Cyril, in Preston, Melbourne, in the presence of, among others, President Dimitris Minas and the members of the Board of Directors of the Pan-Macedonian Union, the Consul General of Greece in Melbourne, Emmanuel Kakavelakis, and the President of the Intercommunity Council of Victoria, Tony Tsourdalakis.
Bishop Evmenios conveyed to the congregation the blessings of Archbishop Makarios of Australia and on his behalf congratulated the Pan-Macedonian Union for its specific initiative and for its actions in general, which aim to preserve the culture of their ancestors and the historical memory into future generations. “And we share with you the anguish for the next generations”, he emphasized, “especially for them to learn the truth of our history and that Macedonia is Greek”.
Finally, Bishop Evmenios wished well to all those present, on behalf of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, for the upcoming feast day of Christmas.
