Bishop Timothy presided over Divine Liturgy for the Feast of the Annunciation of the Theotokos on March 25. The Feast commemorates the appearance of the Archangel Gabriel who announced to the Virgin Mary that she would conceive and bear a son who would be Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Hundreds of people – including Metropolitan Nathanael, clergy, laity, and dignitaries from across Chicago and throughout the Metropolis of Chicago – were prayerfully present for the liturgy and doxology. After services, the Metropolitan, having returned from the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople, extended the blessings of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew as well as his own well wishes to all who celebrate the feast today.
