The Greek Orthodox Community of Oakleigh, the Parish of Saints Anargiri, and the Oakleigh Grammar will pay tribute to the fighters of 1821, on the occasion of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution, illuminating with reverence and honor the Church of Saints Anargiri.
The lighting effect will take place in the church of Saints Anargiri at 8.30 p.m. on Friday, March 26, and will remain active until 12.00 midnight. Depending on the weather, the lighting will be repeated on Saturday, March 27, from 8.30 pm. until 12 a.m.
In this way, the Greek and Orthodox faithful of Melbourne will have the opportunity to pass by and see up close with pride and respect the blue and white flag and the heroes of the Revolution.
The lighting also marks the start of the Evzones Exhibition to be held at 77-81 Willesden, Oakleigh, from Saturday, March 27 to Sunday, April 4, 2021.
