It confirms, however, the decision to continue the operation of the temples and the liturgies.
Also, the Standing Holy Synod has decided for the same period to suspend the operation of all church’s open structures, and kindergartens etc., and to not allow visits to the church’s closed structures of orphanages, units for people with disabilities and nursing homes.
The SHS decided that the food rations of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens and the Holy Metropolises should be distributed in the form of meal packages and not within the relevant structures.
Also, according to the decision of the SHS, the services of the Holy Synod, the Holy Archdiocese of Athens and the Holy Metropolises will be open to the public for only one hour a day on weekdays.
The Standing Holy Synod urges the Archpriests to hold local festivities with simplicity, only in the presence of the relevant Archpriest during this period.
It also states that it is fully in line with the decisions of the competent state bodies responsible for taking the necessary measures to safeguard public health.
