The ceremony on the release of the volume “The Church of Saint Georgios in Edirnekapı and its renovation” took place on Sunday afternoon at the ceremonial hall of the Church of St. Georgios in Edirnekapı in the presence of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
The Chief of the Church, the Abbot of the Holy Trinity Monastery in Halki, Bishop Kyrillos of Erythres, and the Archon of the Great Church of Christ, Megas Hartofylax Panteleimon Vigkas, architects, archaeologists and academics from Turkey who involved in restoring the temple during the years 2014-2017 were the speakers during the event.
In his brief speech in Greek and Turkish, the Ecumenical Patriarch congratulated all those who contributed to this important work of restoring and enhancing this historic temple.
