The Exhibition of Contemporary Icons of Russia and Ukraine was visited by Bishop Maximos of Melitene, held in Paris at the Collège des Bernardins.
Icons from personal collections of Russian and Ukrainian hagiographers as well as from remote parishes in northern Russia are on display.
The Bishop was received and welcomed by the exhibition’s organizer, Russian journalist Sergej Chapnin, former Editor-in-chief of the Moscow Patriarchate’s official magazine and a close associate of Patriarch Kirill.
Bishop Maximos conveyed the congratulations and wishes of Metropolitan Emmanuel of France and the intention of the Metropolitan of France to help organize the next Exhibition of Byzantine Icons in Paris.
