Bishop Ieronim of Dacia Felix sent a message on Thursday on the Republic of Serbia Statehood Day.
Bishop Ieronim noted that February 15 is unique in the Serbian people’s life, history, and culture.
“The first Serb uprising against the Ottoman occupation occurred on February 15, 1804, serving as evidence of the people’s desire for national independence that culminated, on February 15, 1835, with the adoption of the first Constitution of the modern Serbian State by the Assembly of Kragujevac,” the Bishop of Dacia Felix recalled.
“Deep respect towards the Serbian State” was reaffirmed by Bishop Ieronim. “Recalling the desire for institutional cooperation to defend, support, and advance the rights of the Romanian communities on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, a guarantee of reciprocity and good coexistence,” he extended “thoughts of friendship, peace, and blessing” to all Serbians.
Since July 2022, Bishop Ieronim has presided over the Romanian Diocese of Dacia Felix. In the past, the hierarch held the position of Patriarchal Auxiliary Bishop.
