Bishop of Novi Sad, Irinej, will lead the procession through the streets of Novi Sad on Lazar’s Saturday (24th April).
This is the first time we hear about bishop Irinej since he had Covid19. Bishop Irinej of Novi Sad was one of the three candidates for the position of Patriarch, after the passing of late Patriarch Irinej.
Because of his health condition, he did not attend the Enthronement of the new Patriarch Porfirije (20th February), his spiritual child. He is being treated in Episcopal residence in Novi Sad.
Since then, we had heard only that bishop Irinej served Memorial service to late bishop Atanasije Jevtic on 5th March in his Residence.
Bishop Irinej of Backa did not attend the meeting of the Diocesan Council and Diocesan board of directors on 13th March, as we can read on Diocesan’s website.
