On the feast day of Saint Longin of Sotnik, October 29, 2019, Bishop Jovan of Sumadija served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of the Descent of Holy Spirit upon Apostles in Barzilovici, near Lazarevac.
The bishop concelebrated with the abbot of the monastery of Holy Great Martyr George in Celije Dositej, diocesan dean of Kolubara-Posavina protopresbyter-staurophor Zlatko Dimitrijevic, protopresbyter-staurophor Marko Mitic, presbyter Rasko Stjepanovic, protodeacon Ivan Gasic and deacon Nikola Urosevic.
On this occasion deserving citizens were awarded with dinstinctions. Order of New Martyr of Kragujevac of the First Degree was handed over to Mr. Sinisa Mali from Belgrade. Order of Holy New Martyrs of Kragujevac of the Second Degree was handed over to Mrs Gordana Stevic from Lazarevac and TM of Lazarevac, while Order of Vozd Karadjordje was handed over to Mr. Borisav Matijasevic, Goran Popovic and Mr. Milan Popovic from Barzilovica. Also bishop’s charters were given to certain people from Lazarevac.
Following the end of the Liturgy for all the present a table of love was prepared.
