The City of Belgrade marked its Patron Saint-day (slava) – Ascension of Our Lord with the Patriarchal Liturgy
Patriarch Irinej of Serbia celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of the Ascension of Our Lord with the concelebration of protopresbyter-staurophor Vaja Jovic, archpriest Dejan Jakovljevic, presbyterс Predrag Timotijevic and Slavisa Popovic, protodeacon Stevan Rapajic and deacon Bosko Savic on 28 May 2020.
The Patriarch promoted the principal of the church presbyter Arsenije Arsenijevic into the rank of a protopresbyter.
The host of the slava was city architect Mr. Marko Stojcic, while the solemn Eucharistic Gathering was attended by Mayor of Belgrade Mr. Zoran Radojcic, Director of the Office for Cooperation with Churches and the Religious Communities Mileta Radojevic, PhD; Deputy Mayor Mr. Goran Vesic, Head of the City Administration Mrs Sandra Pantelic, Assistant Mayor Mr. Andrija Mladenovic, representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Police, as well as the clergy of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac and the faithful of the capital.
