This is a day of joy for the Mother Church of Constantinople and her faithful worldwide, including those in the Holy Archdiocese of Australia and our venerable Shepherd, Archbishop Makarios, a spiritual child of the Ecumenical Patriarch.
The Christian community of Australia rejoices on this occasion, especially as they celebrate the centenary of their local Church.
