This is a day of joy for the Mother Church of Constantinople and her faithful worldwide, including those in the Holy Archdiocese of Australia and our venerable Shepherd, Archbishop Makarios, a spiritual child of the Ecumenical Patriarch.
The Christian community of Australia rejoices on this occasion, especially as they celebrate the centenary of their local Church. They remember with gratitude the countless donations and benefactions received from the Ecumenical Patriarchate over the years, particularly during the tenure of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
