Athens solemnly celebrated the memory of one of its patron saints, Saint Filothei.
Bishop Filotheos of Oreoi performed the Holy Eucharist at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens where the relic of Saint Filothei is kept.
The relics and the holy icon of Saint Filothei were carried in procession, accompanied by the Air Force units and the Athens Marching Band. An invocation prayer was held outside the home of Saint Filothei and at the seat of the Holy Archdiocese. Archbishop Ieronymos paid his respects to the relics of Saint Filothei and wished everyone happiness and “the grace of the saint to strengthen us.”
