The Greek Cypriot Brotherhood in London hosted a luncheon in honour of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiadis. Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain had also received an invitation by the Greek Cypriot Brotherhood and he attended the luncheon on Saturday evening, September 21.
He was accompanied by Archimandrite Nikodemos Anagnostopoulos and Patriarchal Deacon Kallinikos Chasapis.
After a brief welcome to the President of Cyprus by the Archbishop, he wished President Anastasiadis to achieve his goal in favour of the Cypriot people, as he did during the UN General Assembly. He also gave him blessings on behalf of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
The Cypriot President thanked the Archbishop for his wishes as well as for the greetings sent by the Ecumenical Patriarch. He also assured him that he was eager to work together for the sake of the Greek Cypriot community in the United Kingdom.
The Greek Ambassador, Dimitris Karamitsos, the Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Christodoulidis, the Presidential Commissioner, Fotis Fotiou, the Cypriot Government Spokesman, Prodromos Prodromou, and the new High Commissioner of Cyprus, Andreas Kakouris, were also present during the luncheon.
