Archbishop Damianos of Mount Sinai and Raithu, Abbot of the Monastery of St. Catherine’s at Mount Sinai, of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, visited the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine. The Archbishop was welcomed by Dean, Fr. Andreas Vithoulkas, Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne, and attended the service, participating from the altar area.
At the end of the service, Fr. Andreas shared his enlightening experience during his pilgrimage to Mt. Sinai. The Archbishop then took the opportunity to bless the congregation and offer words of theology and wisdom from his 50-year ministry as the Archbishop of Mt. Sinai and the Abbot of St. Catherine’s Monastery, evoking the spiritual essence of the land of Moses and St. Katherine.
