Problems in Education are routed and aimed at Education Minister Costas Hambiaouris, Archbishop Chrysostomos I said in an interview with simerini.sigmalive.com.
He says the Church supports the minister and his reform work. He denounces, at the same time, the attitude of the Teachers Unions, calling on them to rise on the occasion and serve their spiritual mission.
Concerning developments in the Cyprus issue, he is convinced that there will be no solution, since Turkey, as he explained, wants to conquer the whole of Cyprus, but also to lead throughout the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, a pursuit that is opposed, however, to the interests of other major powers.
He, at the same time, defends the reformist inclinations carried out during his archbishopric, which function effectively for the whole edifice of the Church but also for the prosperity of its diverse religious, social, cultural, national and charitable work, supporting that whoever wants a Church that says only “Lord, have Mercy” will be disappointed. “We have a vivid Church, for which we must rejoice,” he stresses, sending the message to the rumors from various circles regarding his succession that, “As long as God keeps me strong, I will be here,” willing to fight.
