Young people who successfully completed their studies at the three Greek Orthodox Colleges of Sydney and demonstrated academic excellence in the Higher School Certificate (HSC) 2023 examinations in the State of New South Wales, were recognized and awarded by Archbishop Makarios of Australia on Thursday, February 22, in a cordial and intimate ceremony held at the expansive Hall of the Theological School of Apostle Andrew.
Bishops Elpidios of Kyanea and Bartholomew of Charioupolis, alongside the Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese, Archimandrite Christoforos Krikelis, and the dedicated clergy serving the parishes associated with the three esteemed Greek Orthodox Colleges (All Saints, Saint Spyridon, and Saint Euphemia), were among the distinguished guests present at the Excellence Award Ceremony. This annual event, organized by the Educational Council of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, also welcomed Directors, educators, and devoted parents, all gathered to celebrate the academic achievements of outstanding young individuals who excelled in the 2023 HSC examinations.
After warmly congratulating the students who excelled, Archbishop Makarios bestowed his paternal blessing upon them as they embarked on a new chapter in their lives. He wished for God to always enlighten and guide their steps. He also urged them to safeguard the spiritual principles and moral values they received during their studies at Greek Orthodox Colleges. Finally, he assured them that the Holy Archdiocese of Australia would always have open arms and support their God-loving works.
