“Comparing our lives with the lives of others is the thief of joy,” notes Archbishop Makarios of Australia in a video message posted on Instagram.
The Archbishop noted that constant comparison is a trend of modern times, robbing many of the ability to rejoice in the gifts or material possessions they have.
“Do not compare what you have with what others have,” the Archbishop of Australia paternally advises, while at the same time concluding that “the person who does not rejoice in the little things cannot rejoice in the many”.
