In a significant meeting underscoring the longstanding ties between the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and Cyprus, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America welcomed Deputy Minister of Social Welfare of the Republic of Cyprus, Marilena Evangelou, to the Archdiocese.
During their discussion, Deputy Minister Evangelou provided insights into Cyprus’s recent presentation at the United Nations’s 62nd Session Of The Commission For Social Development. The Archbishop expressed keen interest in the proceedings and extended his support to Cyprus’s endeavors on the international stage.
Amidst the approaching 50th anniversary since the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, Archbishop Elpidophoros reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Archdiocese to ending the occupation and advocating for justice for Cyprus.
