In the company of hierarchs and expatriate businesspeople, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America continued his pilgrimage to Mount Athos.
On Saturday night, he paid a visit to the Simonopetra Monastery, during which he shared: “During the heartfelt reception at the Holy Monastery of Simonos Petra, I seized the opportunity to reiterate the unwavering faithfulness of the Greek-American community. They demonstrate their commitment by dedicating their personal time and efforts for the betterment of our Church. Their love and reverence for Mount Athos are profound. Whenever possible, I encourage them to make a pilgrimage to Mount Athos.”
Today, on Sunday, January 21, the Archbishop of America is scheduled to visit the Karakallou Monastery, followed by a visit to the Pantokratoros Monastery, which will mark the concluding stop of his tour on Mount Athos.
On Monday, he will travel to Thessaloniki, where he will stay for an entire week, making a series of contacts with institutional figures. On Sunday, January 28, he is set to deliver a keynote address at an event commemorating the Day of Jewish Martyrs of the Holocaust. During this event, he will be honored with the title of an honorary member of the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki.
