On Christmas Eve at the Greek Orthodox Church of Our Savior in Rye, New York, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America awarded the medal of Saint Paul to Archon Prostatis Ton Grammaton George P. Zimmar.
Dr. Zimmar has been serving faithfully on the parish council of the Church of Our Savior for over 50 consecutive years and as president for two terms. He served as Vice President of the Archdiocesan Council and was a member of the council for several years. Dr. Zimmar is currently an Advisory Board member of the Orthodox Christian Studies Center at Fordham University.
Dr. Zimmar holds a doctorate from the University of Buffalo and a post doctoral fellowship at MIT. He has chaired the psychology departments at Grinnell and Briarcliff Colleges. Presently, he is senior adjunct Professor of Psychology at Pace University.
