On Thursday, September 19, Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain met with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, of the Church of England.
Archbishop Nikitas arrived at Lambeth Palace, accompanied by Archimandrite Nicodemus Anagnostopoulos.
During the meeting, the two Archbishops discussed important issues on their pastoral concerns regarding Great Britain, and in particular human slavery and religious freedom.
The Primate of All England, Justin Welby,s once again congratulated Archbishop Nikita on his election, and expressed his interest in the important work and role that the Ecumenical Patriarchate plays in the Orthodox Diaspora.
The two church leaders, reaffirming their excellent cooperation so far, agreed on their continued communication and joint work on the spiritual progress and harmonious co-existence of the Orthodox and Anglican people of the United Kingdom.
