On Good Friday evening, during the procession of the Epitaph, Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece referred to the need for unity and cooperation.
The Archbishop officiated the Epitaph Service at the Metropolis of Athens, assisted by Bishop Symeon of Thespies, Protosyncellus of the Archdiocese, and Bishop Konstantios of Androusa.

During the procession of the Epitaph, and after the prayer to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Archbishop Ieronymos emphasized that “Today we perform a litany of the body of Jesus Christ; our eyes and souls are full of emotion and piousness”.

The Archbishop also said that “Our Lord went to Galilee to meet His pupils and advised them to stay united. Christ’s unity with His Pupils is a sine qua non. One and only body, one and only way to the Truth of Jesus”.

Ieronymos ended his speech with a parable: “The Lord said: ‘I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing’. This is the invitation of our Lord today, at an age when we need cooperation, friends and associates”.
