Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa congratulated Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the occasion of the National anniversary of 23 July Revolution.
At the same time, the Patriarch of Alexandria conveyed his wishes to the Armed Forces of the country, “the great army of Egypt, on the occasion of the anniversary of the glorious Revolution of July 23, 1952, by the Free Officers Movement.”
“One of the achievements of this struggle was the withdrawal of British forces from Egypt and the return of the Suez Canal to Egypt,” Patriarchal Vicar for the Arab-speaking, Metropolitan Nicholas of Ermoupolis, said in a statement.
“May God protect Egypt under the leadership of Al Sisi. May God protect its Armed Forces,” concluded the Patriarch of Alexandria.
