Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia, the Administrator of the Diocese of Zagreb-Ljubljana, received Apostolic Nuncio to the Republic Croatia Mons. Giorgio Lingua, in his residence in Zagreb, on March 29, 2021.
During the cordial talk, Nuncio Giorgio Lingua congratulated Patriarch Porfirije on his election as the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and the Patriarch wished the Pope’s representative in Croatia a blessed Easter, which the Roman Catholic Church will celebrate next week.
Also, the Patriarch of Serbia congratulated the President of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Serbia, Robert Sabados, and Chief Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Serbia Isak Asiel and all the Jews on the Passover, reminding that Moses and Aaron, who miraculously liberated the Jewish people from Egyptian slavery, are inscribed in the diptychs of the saints of the Orthodox Church, and that the Serbian people have been sharing good and evil with our Jewish brothers for centuries. The Patriarch wished all Jews to celebrate their Passover in health and all good.
