On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, Metropolitan Bartholomew of Smyrna celebrated the feast of Saint Polycarp.
The services took place in the Church of Saint Fotini and not in the Church of Saint Voukolos in Basmane, due to the restrictive measures for the pandemic.
The Metropolitan of Smyrna also ordained to the Holy Diaconate Andreas Romanovskii, a married graduate of Industrial Energy and Economics of the University of Moscow, who will serve as a clergyman at the Holy Diocese of Smyrna.
Before the ordination, the Metropolitan of Smyrna publicly thanked Metropolitan Sotirios of Pisidia, who recommended him.
The holy services were attended by members of the Orthodox community, and Metropolitan Sotirios of Pisidia was represented by the Hieromonk Vladimir Rusanen.
