Using blackmail moves and gunboat diplomacy, Turkey undermines any attempt at reconciliation and a peaceful settlement, noted Deputy Foreign Minister for Greek Diaspora, Kostas Vlasis, in an interview with in.gr.
The deputy minister stated that Greece was facing the crisis in the Southeastern Mediterranean with calmness, readiness and determination, while “Turkey is developing an expansionary policy, which is based on illegal actions, thus turning it into a destabilizing factor.”
Referring to the Greek diaspora, he emphasized that “they move on their own initiative, demonstrating their high national mindset and reminding us that the Greek heart beats within them,” while underlining the important role of the Greek diaspora media in the current situation.
“Together, they turn to be our voice all over the world,” he said, adding that the Foreign Ministry had taken initiatives to ensure that the country’s “fair positions” were transmitted in a properly coordinated manner to foreign governments, international decision-making centers, organizations and academic fora and to contradict the negative impression created for Greece by the spread of false news.
