Bishop Daniil of Dacia Felix conveyed congratulations to the newly elected Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church after his enthronement at St Michael Cathedral in Belgrade on Friday.

“The election and enthronement of Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb and Ljubljana as new Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church is a spiritual joy for the priests and believers of the Diocese of Dacia Felix in Vršac, for all Romanians in Serbia, especially for the fact that the new Patriarch, born in Vojvodina, a former abbot of Kovilj Monastery and Assistant Bishop to the Diocese of Backa, knows very well the realities of this blessed, multiethnic and multi-confessional state,” Bishop Daniil.

“May God grant His Beatitude a long and fruitful ministry for the glory of Christ’s Orthodox Church and the salvation of all the sons and daughters of the sister Serbian Orthodox Church,” the Bishop of Dacia Felix said.

Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb and Ljubljana became the 46th Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church after the election by the Holy Assembly of Bishops held this Thursday.
