“We pray to God Almighty to give him many years, full of joy and blessings, so that he can continue, with the same wisdom, strength and warmth, to guide and strengthen us. Above all, may you inspire in our hearts the love and peace that are reflected in his gentle look and in his warm, benevolent smile. May God grant Your Eminence many years!”, says the announcement of the Archdiocese of Australia for the name day of Archbishop Makarios.
In a message, as reported by vema.com.au, on the feast of Venerable Macarius the Great, the Church in Australia expressed joy because Archbishop Makarios of Australia celebrates its name day for the second time as the Archbishop and spiritual father.
In the same message, it is mentioned that since his arrival, Archbishop Makarios glorified God for deeming him worthy to bring him to Australia and the Lord blessed the faithful in Australia to have a loving father, who tirelessly, with much love, works for spiritual support of his flock and for the progress of the Holy Archdiocese.
On the occasion of his name day, with feelings of deep love and gratitude for the spiritual fruits that his ministry has already yielded, the bishops, the clergy and the associates of the Archbishop expressed their cordial wishes to him for health, strength and longevity for the glory of God and for the benefit of the faithful of the Greek Orthodox Church of Australia.
