The Feast of the Epiphany was solemnly celebrated at the Ecumenical Patriarchate, today, on the 6th of January 2021.
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, after the celebration of the Orthros, firstly performed the Great Blessing of the Waters and then the Divine Liturgy. Metropolitan Meliton of Philadelphia, Archbishop Nektarios of Anthidon, the Commissioner of Holy Sepulchre in Constantinople, Metropolitans Chrysostomos of Myron, Stefanos of Kallioupolis and Madytos, Athenagoras of Kydonia as well as Bishop Andrianos of Alikarnassus, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Ankara, Andrii Sybiha, the Ukrainian Consul General in Constantinople, Oleksandr Gaman, their counterparts, Consul General of Greece in Constantinople, Danai Vasilaki, and Archons Offikalioi of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and the faithful of Constantinople, co-celebrated the services by observing all the necessary precautionary measures.
After the end of the Divine Liturgy, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the Hierarchs, the officials and the faithful headed in procession to the waterfront of the Phanar, where the Ecumenical Patriarch presided over the celebration of the Great Blessing of the Waters service and he cast a cross into the water.
