The Deputy Foreign Minister, Kostas Vlasis, and the Civil Governor of Mount Athos, Athanasios Martinos, paid a visit to the digital exhibition “Passage to the Light” hosted at the Athens Concert Hall.
The state-of-the-art exhibition presents the great work of digitization of cultural treasures, which have been kept for centuries in the monasteries of Mount Athos.
The unique work of the Athos Digital Heritage, which was carried out during four years with the co-financing of the European Union (NSRF 2014 – 2020), includes in digitized form manuscript codes, antiquities, documents, works of art, digital presentations of Holy Monasteries and much more.
The deputy minister in charge of Diaspora Greeks congratulated all those who worked on this extremely important project, which highlights the role of Mount Athos as the guardian of our tradition.
He stated: “As the Deputy Minister with principal responsibility for the Greek Diaspora, I will do my best to promote this digital exhibition across the world.”
