The See of Jerusalem was recognized as a Patriarchate in AD 451 and St. Juvenal became the Patriarch of Jerusalem at the time, the first of the total 29 Patriarchs of Jerusalem who have been canonized by the Orthodox Church. His Feast was celebrated with the Divine Liturgy at the tomb of the Saint which is at the Holy Monastery of St. Onuphrius.
The Liturgy was officiated by the Master of Ceremonies of the Patriarchate Archimandrite Bartholomew and Archdeacon Mark, at the chanting of Hierodeacon Simeon. Monk Iouvenalios participated in the prayer, who also brought a part of the relics of the Saint as shown in the photo. Along with St. Juvenal today another Patriarch of Jerusalem who lived in the 9th century is also commemorated, St. Vasilios.
