The Ecumenical Patriarchate, represented by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, participated in the International Summit on Ukraine and endorsed the Joint Statement issued after the Summit, which took place on June 15-16 at the Bürgenstock Resort in the Swiss Confederation.
The Joint Statement for a Framework for Peace is supported by numerous countries and international organizations that participated in this highly significant Summit, convened at the invitation of the President of the Swiss Confederation, Ms. Viola Amherd.
During the closing plenary session of the Summit, the Ecumenical Patriarch addressed the participants, emphasizing everyone’s duty to defend and promote peace. [Read the Patriarch’s address here.]
