The central celebration of the jubilee of 850 years of Nemanja’s endowments (foundations) was held in the Monastery of Saint Nicholas in Kursumlija on September 14-15, 2019, under the auspices of the Orthodox Diocese of Nis and the Municipality of Kursumlija.
In the courtyard of the Monastery of Saint Nicholas in Kursumlija, one of the oldest endowments of Great Zupan Stefan Nemanja, later Saint Simeon, Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral presided over the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy on Sunday, September 15, 2019.
Metropolitans Alexy of Balta and Ananev of the Ukranian Orthodox Church and Porfirije of Zagreb and Ljubljana concelebrated the Divine Liturgy. Bishops Nikanor of Banat, Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic, David of Krusevac, Marko of Bregalnica, Nikodim of Dalmatia, Heruvim of Osek-Polje and Barnja, Isihije of Mohacs and Bishop Arsenije of Nis concelebrated as well.
A great number of many clergymen and monks of the Serbian Church and faithful people attended the jubilee celebrations.
At the end of the Holy Liturgy, Bishop Arsenije of Nis thanked the hierarchs who participated in the central celebration of the great jubilee of the Nemanja’s endowments in the Monastery of Saint Nicholas in Kursumlija.
The central celebration of the 850th anniversary of the Nemanja’s endowments began with the Vesper service in the Monastery of Saint Nicholas in Kursumlija on Saturday, September 14, 2019, on the 800th anniversary of the independence of Serbian Church.
